Code of Conduct for SiccaDania and SiccaDania’s stakeholders

Updated and valid as of 31st March 2022

SiccaDania aims to be a trustworthy business partner, and we believe that responsible and ethical practices create long-term value for both SiccaDania and our stakeholders. SiccaDania has stated its commitment to integrity in this Code of Conduct. Our leading principle is that we do not compromise our standards of integrity under any circumstances, and we expect the same from our stakeholders (e.g. suppliers, employees, partners, agents, advisers, joint venture partners, local partners or distributors acting on behalf of SiccaDania).

It is our purpose to nourish the world in a safe, responsible and sustainable way. We understand that supply chains that support the global food system must be sustainable and balance the needs of today with the needs of future generations. We can achieve our purpose only by working closely with our stakeholders. Our Code of Conduct explains how we expect the full supply chain from farmers, producers, manufacturers and others to work with us to fulfil that purpose – ethically and in compliance with the applicable laws.

All SiccaDania’s stakeholders need to comply with the standards set in this Code of Conduct or demonstrate their compliance with similar standards defined in their own code of conduct or company policies.

The Code of Conduct defines the minimum level of performance that SiccaDania requires from all our stakeholders. The principles apply to our company and all our employees who provide the foundation for our operations globally. We believe this joint commitment to ethical conduct and integrity is a strong foundation for trusted business relationships that create shared value.

SiccaDania’s Code of Conduct is based on the ten principles of the United Nations Global Compact Initiative, the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and the International Labour Organisation’s Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work.

Commitment to integrity and obeying the law

As a responsible company, we expect our global stakeholders to share our commitment to obeying the law.

Our stakeholders need to:

  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Inform their SiccaDania contact person immediately if the stakeholder is unable to comply with this Code of Conduct

Respect people and human rights

We expect our stakeholders to stand with us in prioritising the safety, well-being and dignity of all individuals, whose talents and hard work help us deliver our products and services.

Our stakeholders need to:

  • Respect universal human rights such as freedom of thought, opinion, expression, religion and freedom from any discrimination based on e.g. race, age, nationality, gender or sexual orientation or any form of harassment
  • Respect local laws on working time and compensation, freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining
  • Respect children’s rights and not use or tolerate the use of child labour. Follow the minimum age set by local laws or the International Labour Organisation’s (ILO) definition of the minimum age of 15 years, whichever is higher
  • Ensure that no form of forced labour is used or tolerated in any of their operations or activities
  • Ensure the health, safety and security of their employees and visitors as well as other people impacted by their operations
  • Comply with SiccaDania’s safety requirements when working at or visiting SiccaDania sites and carry out the necessary safety training

  • Manage any waste according to the applicable laws and the manufacturer’s instructions
  • Ensure that their products are safe for the use they are meant for

Zero tolerance for corruption and bribery

We expect our stakeholders to protect SiccaDania’s reputation and any information or property we entrust to them.

  • Never receive, solicit or accept bribes from any party under any circumstances, directly or indirectly

Compliance involves everyone

Our stakeholders need to:

  • Give SiccaDania permission to verify compliance with our stakeholders’ Code of Conduct through dialogue and, if considered necessary by SiccaDania, through on-site audits. Reasonable notice will be given for the audits, conducted by SiccaDania’s internal or external resources
  • Understand that SiccaDania will consider a violation of laws or of this Code of Conduct or a failure to take corrective action a breach of contract, and this may entitle SiccaDania to terminate the business relationship with the supplier or third party
  • Make it possible for their stakeholders to voice their concerns about misbehaviour or suggest improvements or give general feedback anonymously
  • Report immediately to their SiccaDania contact person any suspected or observed breach of this Code of Conduct that may affect the business relationship or SiccaDania. Any misconduct can be reported to SiccaDania’s Contract Manager, Mr Henrik Frøsig (SiccaDania will carefully review reports of misconduct and keep them strictly confidential to the fullest extent possible)
