Membrane Filtration

Pilot Plants

Pilot Plants are a great way of testing a setup or new application before scaling up. With the SiccaDania Filtration pilot plant range, customers can test any setup.

SiccaDania Filtration delivers a wide range of pilot plants – Type SD Filtration Compact™

Pilot plants are in principle custom-made and prepared for a range of targeted applications and filtration technologies.

Compact™ – UPF – UF plate & frame

The very compact pilot plant (UPF) allows for small batch sizes to simulate operation and required product output and quality. The low hold-up volume allows for cost-efficient trials, without compromising quality and scalability. The highly flexible configuration of plates with a single pass or multi passes allows for optimised performance for most UF applications. The plate & frame configuration also allows a higher viscosity index compared to spiral wound membranes.

Compact™ – MPP – Multipurpose pilot plant (LF MF/MF, LF UF/UF, NF and RO 40/60)

The compact pilot plant (MPP) is a versatile plant with basically all features possibly, yet still operating with low hold-up volumes to ensure economic testing and trial runs. All parameters can easily be adjusted and set on the control panel, making this multipurpose and extremely easy plant to operate and perform extensive and repeatable trials with.  The plant consists of 2 x 3.8” pressure vessels that can be run in parallel or in series as well as with LeanFlux for low-pressure applications.

Compact™ – LeanFlux® – Pilot plant (LF MF/MF, LF UF/UF)

LeanFlux® enables improved process efficiency, controllable and/or reduced fouling, optimised membrane cleaning and extended membrane lifetime for existing processes/applications. LeanFlux® will potentially create entirely new processing opportunities for membrane filtration.

  • Highly flexible processing parameters
  • Easy operation/Intuitive automation
  • Batch or continuous operation mode
  • Accelerated development cycles (4:1)
  • Pilot data fully scalable to industrial size
  • Flexible rental/purchase agreement

LeanFlux® spiral wound crossflow filtration is developed especially for MF & UF applications. LeanFlux® can accurately adjust the transmembrane pressure (TMP) “independently” of the required linear velocity/crossflow (Delta Pressure, ΔP).

Compact™ – Combi – Pilot Plant (RO/NF)

The Compact Combi Pilot plant is basically built to customer specifications. It is extremely flexible and user-friendly. Automation & HMI are designed for easy operation and improved repeatability. The design is compact without compromising serviceability and maintenance.
