Microparticulation

SiccaDania utilises a unique combination of thermal and mechanical treatment processes for our Microparticulation design called μ-Pro™.
Microparticulation - MP-002

SiccaDania μ-Pro™ plant is designed for treating WPC 55-60 through thermal treatment in order to denature whey proteins and mechanical treatment in order to form accurate size of protein particle sizes similar to fat globules in milk.

Microparticulation is a controlled combined thermal and mechanical treatment of whey protein concentrate (WPC) for denaturation and creation of controlled-sized particles at a size of 1 – 10 µm.

The SiccaDania μ-pro is an efficient design for controlling accurate particle size distribution. The combination of indirect heating and flash cooling before and after the actual shear action/heating and holding ensures the desired particle distribution. An added benefit is a complete process that is less prone to fouling and thus allows for a longer operation time between CIP.

μ-Pro™ products can be produced from both sweet and acid whey concentrates depending on the final use. The final product is called Microparticulated Whey Protein Concentrate  (MWPC) and is used as fat replacer (the same mouth feel as cream/coffee cream), protein booster for various drinks (sweet and acid-based) and as MWPC powder for easy distribution to cater for production in areas without direct access to WPC from cheese/separator type fermented  products (quark, tvorog, fresh cheeses etc.)

MWPC can also be added back to cheese milk in order to boost yield, however, may not be accepted/desired in later whey processing.
