New beverages for modern eating habits
As consumers’ eating habits move in new directions, so do their demands for new types of beverages. While some consciously follow a flexitarian, vegetarian or vegan diet, others enjoy the ability to diversify their consumption.
This has opened up opportunities for innovative manufacturers to produce drinks products that appeal to consumers’ unique preferences.
Manufacturing a different type of nutrition
Plant-based beverages are increasingly used as dairy milk replacements, which is why they are sometimes referred to as ‘plant-based milk’. It must be noted that, from a nutritional perspective, dairy milk and plant-based beverages are different food types.
Plant-based beverages are processed from seeds, grain or other plant material, where the plant material is extracted into water. Various additives can include synthetic vitamins, minerals, preservatives and gums, allowing numerous possibilities for innovation.
To take advantage of the opportunities for developing plant-based beverages, manufacturers need reliable, proven equipment that allows them to adjust processes and capacities depending on individual requirements.
